The Strawhats as dogs

Revenge is even sweeter when you love it

Friends. Don't always trust them.

DANCE OFF

The more you know

Teppuu (Oota Moare)

I came over this by accident, I was bored really and it seemed good enough with a girl on the cover and the action, seinen and sports genres helped making me intrested enough. I've now read all chapters that have come out. All 19. Today.
You all know about the many sports manga out there, and like me, you're probably most seeing guys as the maincharacters. That's not a problem, it's just nice seeing a girl as that maincharacter for once, though she may not have the purest motives.
Don't expect silly catfights. Expect broken noeses.

You know the typical good guy maincharacter who wants to be the best? How about an anti-hero just wanting to beat someone up?
Really, I'm serious.
Ishidou Natsuo is gifted and a natural talent at sports (who also has a bad personality). But now, because of that, she's bored; there aren't any real challenges for her to use her abilites to the max and make her feel alive.
One day, a happy, smiling girl ask if she wants to join the small martial arts club. With Natsuo it'll get three members, but she says 'no'. Though she goes up and meet with the little club to see how it is and wipe that annoyingly happy smile of the girl's face. She's confident she'll win even though she has never done it before. It turns out it's harder, way harder, than Natsuo thought and she loses. Mixed Martial Arts, or MMA, wasn't as the other sports, she couldn't just get the "feel" of it and ace the whole thing.
Afterwards Natsuo thinks about the match and one thing leads to another and she makes up a goal:
To win over and beat up the girl with the annoyingly happy smile and thick eyebrows.

These women aren't sticks on legs, but muscled, well-trained women who fights seriously in a sport seen as manly.

"As soon as this starts, I'll hit your face."

The three gradings of cosplay

Really great picture

Just wanted to show you this.
I think it's absolutley beautiful. Does anyone know the artist?

How. Just how?

Piano no Mori (Isshiki Makoto)

Oh, dear God. How long has it been since I last did this? Actually, I don't even want to know...

You know when you're out of manga to read, all the updates are read, but you want more. You see an intresting mangatitle and read the description and think "why not?". It's good, you keep on reading it. Then after you've read all the available capthers you forget about it; you may not even read it more after that. Others are so good you read the updates as well and even look forward to them. And sometimes you come across a manga so good, so moving, that you can't ignore it. You feel for the characters, like the plot, the art the writing, setting everything there is to like.
Piano no Mori is my new little diamond.

The story is about two boys with two very different upbringings. Amamiya Shuhei's father is a known pianist and he follows his father's footsteps. As a child he gave up many things for practicing playing the piano. Ichinose Kai's mother is a prostitute and lives in the red light district, also called The Edge of the Forest. On his freetime he plays the supposed broken piano in the forest.
When Amamiya comes with him one day, he can't play it. Ichinose can. And he plays it beautifully.
Amamiya is very good at playing the piano, as well, and when Ichinose follows him home one day, he gets to play a "normal" piano, but he can't play it. It sounds like a machinegun, or with other words very, very loud. Though out on the streets, where the sound isn't as high, people are commenting how beautiful it is and thinks Amamiya plays.
This is the story of two boys who share a bond via the piano, which intertwines their paths in life.
One plays it to be number one and the other just because it's fun.

I first came across it when I was looking for new manga and thought the title was pretty nice. Then the discription was good as well. Intresting. No fierce battle manga, no hilarious comedy and no romantic romance. It sounded peaceful and heartwarming. Turns out later I was right. I really like it. Seems like it has an anime, as well.
It makes me want to read it more and has kept me up too long some nights now. I just finished reading all the available chapters and I sure I will continue to read it and long for the updates.
The atmosphere's nice. The characters do think bad thoughts and doesn't wish for the rival to do better just to be nice, but actually want to do be best themselves. It's awesome, really.

"The sound of Kai-kun's playing, what could that be...? My heart was pounding. What was that nervous excitement I felt?"
